"TODAY'S CHRISTIAN HITS, YESTERDAY'S FAVORITES"

Thanks for being part of Spirit 712.  Our musical ministry originates from Le Mars, Iowa.   We want to be your online radio station for hope, encouragement, and great music!   Even though you can hear our broadcast around the world, we focus on the 712 area code in western Iowa.  (That's the 712 in Spirit 712.)   We feature the best in Contemporary Christian music including  popular local artists.

The Joy of Easter!

More than just a day, the Church gives us a seven-week Easter season to celebrate.  Yet sometimes our everyday lives feel so heavy that celebration is not a part of them.  Critical illness in the family, loss of a job, disappointment in a relationship and the burdens of everyday life can make it a challenge to feel particularly joyful – even in the Easter season.
But the joy we are being invited into this season is beyond what we see in our everyday lives.  It's true that Jesus says “Come to me and bring me your burdens” but we usually can’t believe it.  Maybe we don’t want to believe it.  If I really allow Jesus to come into my heart the way he wants to, will he ask me to change my life in ways that are too hard? How do I share the chaos of my life with Jesus?  If I keep him at arm’s length, my life might be difficult, but at least my problems are familiar.  What would it cost me to let go and change my life?
We know our own faults and failings so well.  Too well.  We begin to believe that Jesus loves the way we love – with all of our human limits.  How could Jesus love us and accept us the way we are right now?  Maybe when we fix a few things about our lives, love our spouse a little better, stop being so critical of family members, stop drinking, stop nagging, love a little more… when we are perfect, then Jesus will love us.
If we can overcome our fears, the real power of letting Jesus into our hearts is how free our hearts will become.  Suddenly, we are not afraid, not burdened and simply ready to serve with Jesus.

Jesus loves us - right now.  At this moment, Jesus holds each one of us in his warm and loving gaze and loves us so freely at a depth that our human minds can’t take in.  Whether we comprehend this or not, Jesus loves us endlessly and waits for us with his arms open, ready to hold and support us.
As we receive his embrace and feel the peace and joy of Easter wash over us, we can look over his shoulder, and see beyond to those in need who now wait for us.  That’s when we realize that the real joy in our lives is putting aside our own faults, challenges and difficulties for a while and entering into the lives of others.
We are being missioned as Easter People.  We find peace in Jesus’ love for us and now we share it with others.  We find ourselves standing side by side with Jesus, looking together at those we are being sent to love.
That is where the real joy of Easter waits for us.

Hope in these Uncertain Times

PeaceWithGod.net

With the coronavirus causing widespread panic in certain parts of the world, you may wonder when it will all come to an end.
The new virus may be all over the news, but even at its worst, you can have peace. How is that possible when frightening statistics dominate headlines every day?
Trust is the cure for calming our worries—but trust in what? Trust who? Who can be so strong and wise and good that you can entrust your life to him?
God is. God created you and loves you more than you can imagine. He knows your doubts and fears and He cares about them. The Bible, God’s words to us, says, “[cast] all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

That means giving your uncertainties and distress to the God who wants you to feel secure in Him. To experience that kind of security, you first need to have a relationship with Him. And He made a way for you to do that.
God cares so much about you that He sent Jesus Christ to save you from eternal separation from Him, providing a way for you to be with Him forever.
It’s wise to protect yourself against this outbreak. At the same time, don’t let anxiety consume your life. Jesus asks us in the Bible, “And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” (Matthew 6:27).
Trouble and suffering will always exist, but you can have peace in your heart knowing your future is safely in God’s hands. Will you put your trust in Him today?

Coronavirus Update

Join us in praying for those affected by the Coronavirus and those who are worried.  These prayers are taken from www.Crosswalk.com

A Prayer for Those Who Are Ill with Coronavirus
Father God- You are the ultimate Healer. Father, we come before You to pray for those infected with this virus. We pray for not only their healing, but for them to be comforted while they heal. Lord, please eradicate every ounce of this virus from their bodies. Please heal every cell in their bodies, every infected part of their being. We pray for no lasting effects in their bodies from this illness. Father, please heal them inside and out and provide them with the medical care they need, with the medications they need, and with the healing not only physically but spiritually so that they may live life and life abundantly ahead.
In Jesus’ name, Amen

A Prayer for Those Who Are Worried about the Spread of the Coronavirus
Father- Worry and fear are not of Your heart. 1 John 4 reminds us that perfect love casts out all fear, and we pray Your perfect love upon the hearts of all those who are burdened with fear of this virus. Lord, we know with no doubt that You are bigger than the threat of anything, especially illnesses. Please comfort those who are living in fear, please free them from the bondage that anxiety creates within. Remind them that You are still on the Throne and that You are still in control. Fully rain down the serenity that comes only from the Prince of Peace. Help those who are living in unease to trust You in this time so that in times to come we may rest assured that You will be faithful to be with us until the end of age. We rest at the Throne of the Almighty such fears and cast them upon You (1 Peter 5:7), for Your burden is Light and Your Yoke is easy (Matthew 11:30), we know You cover us with Your wings (Psalm 91:4).  In Jesus’ name, Amen

A Prayer for Those Treating the Sick
Father- We come to pray for those who are caring for the sick. It takes a kind and selfless heart to care for those who are sick, and so Father we pray for them. We pray that You would be their source of rest, their source of replenishment when weary, and their source of hope in such overwhelming times. Lord we know in Luke 6:38 that whosoever pours out shall be given back in proportion, so we pray blessings upon these caregivers. We also pray for their health that they may not fall ill. Father protect them with a hedge of protection against the germs of Coronavirus and help those who are giving to be protected as they nurse others back to health.  Bless them, oh Lord.  In  Jesus’ name, Amen
